Greetings from Embracing the Nations Ministries (ENM)! This past quarter, we had the wonderful opportunity to take dedicated missionaries on a much-needed furlough. It was a time of rest, reflection, and renewal for those faithfully serving on the frontlines of mission work.
For those unfamiliar, a missionary furlough is a period when missionaries return from the field to recharge, reconnect with family and friends, and gain spiritual renewal. This time is critical for physical and emotional rest and re-aligning with God’s vision and purpose in their calling.
Why Furlough Matters
Missionaries often work tirelessly in challenging environments, bringing the message of hope and salvation to people in difficult or remote places. While they serve with dedication, their work can be emotionally, physically, and spiritually demanding. Furlough allows them to step back, receive care, and refuel for their mission.
At ENM, we prioritize the well-being of our missionaries, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive in their calling. During the furlough, we encouraged them to rest deeply, reflect on their journey, and spend time in prayerful preparation for the work ahead.
Highlights from the Furlough
- Rest and Recovery
We made sure that the missionaries had time to relax, recover, and care for their health. It was a season of prioritizing physical well-being, allowing them to address any health concerns that may have been neglected during their time in the field. We hosted two families at the Mission Retreat Center within the third quarter of the year. - Spiritual Renewal
Throughout the furlough, missionaries attended sessions with our ministry leaders and spiritual mentors, who provided missions and leadership training, encouragement, teaching, and prayer support. Together, we spent time in God’s presence, seeking His guidance and strength for the next phase of their journey. - Family and Fellowship
Many of our missionaries took this opportunity to reconnect with loved ones. The time spent with family and friends helped them strengthen relationships and share stories from their work. - Refreshed Vision for Mission
Furlough isn’t just about rest; it’s also about vision. During our debrief sessions, missionaries reflected on their experiences, celebrated victories, and gained renewed clarity for the mission field. Many shared testimonies of God’s faithfulness and left with a strengthened resolve to spread the gospel with even greater fervor.
Thank You for Your Support
This furlough was possible because of the generosity and prayers of our ENM family. With your support, we provide resources, support, and moments of refreshing for missionaries in the field. This enables them to stay energized and equipped for the vital work of the harvest. We are deeply grateful for each one of you who prayed, donated, or simply reached out in encouragement.
How You Can Get Involved
If you feel called to support our missionaries, consider partnering with us through prayer, volunteering, or giving. There are many ways to make a difference, from providing financial support to helping with events and outreach. Together, we can continue to uplift and empower our missionaries as they go forth to make disciples in all nations. Together, we are taking God’s love and healing to the people He loves.
